School Events
Bringing art to families and the community through school events is important. Art is not just about seeing beautiful creations once they are done. It's important to talk about art, communicate through the process of creating art together and being inspired by each other. This is why having various art events has always been an important aspect of my art program as a whole.
Fine Arts Night
Fine Arts Nights, held once a year, bring together visual art, music, poetry, and performance art to celebrate all that we have learned throughout the school year.
Circle Painting
Circles can have so many meanings. A circle painting is a group painting activity that builds community and relationships by working together and sharing the experience of painting a variety of circles and covering a large canvas.
Winter Folk Art
For this event families learned about Folk Art and several folk artists. A slide show was presented of various winter folk pieces for ideas and some seasonal music while families painted together on a three large murals. The murals were then displayed in the school hallway for everyone to enjoy.
